Last week I had the pleasure of seeing Bruce Springsteen at Wembley and witnessed a man completely lost in the music, dancing with sheer joy and abandon. He was in his own world, thoroughly engrossed and loving every moment.
Coincidently I saw him dancing like this at Springsteen’s Villa Park show last year. And, would you believe it, who should walk into breakfast the morning after the show but dancing man!
He told us this was his 108th Springsteen concert in 18 different countries and he even showed us his Springsteen tattoos. A superfan indeed!
Apparently this is his special Springsteen dance. 🕺🏻 Our Springsteen Friend from Bolton was back at Wembley on the Saturday evening too, in the mosh pit, so if you went you may have seen him.
His remarkable dedication got me thinking about the importance of passion and commitment in our professional lives. As leaders, we often get caught up in the minutiae of our daily tasks, but we need to remember to lead with purpose and passion. When we embrace our roles with the same enthusiasm and dedication this man shows for Springsteen's music we not only inspire ourselves but also those around us.
Leadership is about having the courage to be authentic and fearless. It's about creating an environment where everyone feels empowered to express themselves and bring their whole selves to work.
I strive to lead with purpose, inspire with passion and I don’t fear dancing to my own beat (although my dancing goes on in my head out of kindness to those around me! 😂🎸 )
For anyone interested I have permission to share this video and Bruce's fans support for my blog.
